D & D: How do I start playing This post 'for those who hear about D & D (Dungeons & Dragons), and it turns out to try it out, but it is hard to move from idea to action.
D & D and 'a role playing game (RPG for short, and unless you know what' an RPG
read here), a game that you need in a group (ideally '5 - 6 people).
To start playing, there are two options: an 'involve friends, and another' seek others who already play 'and try to play with them. If we are unable to insert in a group already 'format, usually the other players can help us with explanations, maybe we'll lend their manuals.
For those who must or want to involve friends who have never played it needs a base from which to start.
Now, Dungeons & Dragons' game for which there have been many updates, but would not recommend a beginner to jump immediately on manualoni hardcover: beyond 'the cost thereof shall be designed for people who already play' long, there 'too much stuff to digest all at once.
Wizards of the Coast did indeed plan to launch this autumn a line, called "Essential", was designed especially for beginners. Idea that I approve, we will see how these new products will come out when.
But nothing prevents you from starting now too.
There are two options I recommend:
who knows English, visit this web page
on the site where the Wizards are Quick Start Rules, some people are ready and two adventures, all free.
who does not know English, to search box
core D & D published by 25 edition, which costs 20 € and includes nuts, 4 characters, markers, cardboard, adventure and fast rules (whereas a set of dice often costs around 10 euro, although it contains much less material basis of the manuals the box worth it).
With one of those kits you can 'play the game.
Then, to them 'you can' choose to jump immediately on the complete manual, maybe a little 'time, or whether to wait for the new line and continue along track more' facilitated.
The line will contain the Essential 'new material, not duplicate.
To find other players, I recommend searching and sifting through the various forums dedicated to role-play (and all the RPG, D & D and 'by far the most' famous) to see if there ' people looking for players close to us. Furthermore, if in our city 'there is a shop, they often do point of reference, you can 'try asking.
Good game!
